When fall is just around the corner, it is time to bring your houseplants indoors. They do get a boost from spending some time in the summer's nurturing environment. Once the outdoor temperatures are getting into the low 50's, it is wise to bring them back inside. Most of them will tolerate close to freezing temperatures but better not to wait too long.
This is one of the easiest times to re-pot if your plant has grown quite a bit. It's also a good time to prune if that's become necessary. I have found that drenching them with water prior to returning them indoors, helps prevent soil insects from coming in with them.
Place them in the best light for each plant indoors and they should do well inside until they are ready for a summer vacation next year!
