growing well on 11/12/14 |
summer 2012 |
The Dracaena family is remarkably sturdy and even after setbacks can rally again to become strong and beautiful again. They are among the largest of houseplants and some of the easiest to grow plants for your home.
- Prefers bright indirect light. Will tolerate quite low light for awhile. Some direct morning or late afternoon sun would suit it well.
- A plant this size which is in a 10"(25cm) diameter pot can take up to 2 quarts (or almost 2 liters) of water when ready. Water when dry about 1/2" (about 1.5cm) below the soil surface.
- Fertilize regularly for best growth.
- These can become dust collectors. A feather duster cleans them up nicely. An occasional gentle hosing outside or for apartment dwellers, a shower in the bathtub will do just fine.
