Botanically called, Dracaena massangeana, it is one of the easiest of the larger houseplants to keep. It's been a houseplant favorite for generations and does not need too much attention so it is a very good choice for those who don't have a lot time to devote to their plants. If you can only manage one indoor plant, this could be a perfect pick for you. A plant in this size pot (14" or 35 cm diameter) generally needs water only about once a month or so, depending on how much light it is in and, how warm and humid the room is, where it has been placed.
There are several hardy species of the tropical African draceanas available for sale;they are all splendid quiet additions and a breath of life to whatever room you put one in.

Care Instructions---
- Bright indirect light or some direct morning sun. They tolerate low light for a while.
- Water a plant in a 10" (25 cm) diameter or larger sized pot when it is dry a 2 or 3 inches (5-8 cm) below the soil surface.
- Water with up to 2 quarts ( 2 liters of water) for a 10" (25 cm)diameter pot, and up to 1 gallon (almost 4 liters) of water for a plant in a 14"(35 cm) diameter pot, when necessary.
- Use a lesser amount of water, if the plant is in a fairly low light area, unless the plant has dried out too much.
- Soil moisture meters are helpful for some and available at many garden centers and online
- Fertilize regularly.
- Dust the leaves when necessary.
- It can bloom and its large flower spray blooms from the center of its crown. It's quite a spectacle, so hope that happens for you.
